A contraction of “hack” in the sense of tinkering and making things, and “-athon” in reference to a marathon, this new model based on co-working promotes interaction in a relaxed and sociable atmosphere. This is an event attended by people of different cultures, with diverse and varied life experiences and skills, all brought together in the same place with a common aim: to find solutions to a need or an issue, and innovate in a particular field.
Each individual brings their own intelligence and uniqueness to the event. Each person contribute their ideas and their viewpoint, explains, confronts and builds while helping to create a collective intelligence and bringing forth ideas, projects and concepts.
LADAPT and EDEW’s partner businesses wanted to make innovation and digital technology the theme of this 20th edition. We jointly put together 5 events to bring forth innovative solutions for the inclusion of people with disabilities. Five themes were proposed, which are general and show awareness of disability stakeholders in France and Europe :
- Associations and disability missions: where do we aim to be in 10 years’ time?
- SMEs, Employment, Disability, let’s take up the challenge ! in partnership with Groupe Pomona
- Accessibility by design, how can it be made into an innovation lever ? in partnership with Générali
- Digital technology affects us, how can it help us ? in partnership with SII
- Supported employment, what solutions can we contribute ? in partnership with Siemens
Each Hackathon will yield several projects that promote the inclusion of people with disabilities. These will then be detailed on the www.fairevoluer.fr site and made accessible to all. Thus, after the 5 Hackathons, 23 projects will be submitted to the public vote on the FairEvoluer.fr site.
Web users’ 5 favourite projects will be presented on 14 November, on EDEW’s opening day.
A jury will be tasked with giving awards to 3 projects and choosing the winners of the FairEvoluer Awards 2016 !
All of the concepts discussed, proposals and prototypes are entirely rights-free. Thus, any company or individual can take inspiration from them, fund or develop the projects. This “open source” dimension is deliberately sought by LADAPT. As an association under the law of 1901 and a recognised organisation of public service, our purpose for the last 87 years has been to offer solutions to as many people as possible, aiming to achieve a change in attitudes, corporate practices and of course the condition of people with disabilities.
Join us on 14 November for the FairEvoluer Awards ceremony 2016 !
