Recognised employment actions by LADAPT
Handicafé©, a concept created by and belonging to LADAPT, combines flexibility and sociability. It enables disabled candidates and recruiters to meet and converse in a welcoming setting over a coffee. Two display areas are planned, one for CVs and the other for job vacancies. Participants in both areas are invited to refer to this information, then go and meet people in the other area.
The format of the meetings is less formal than a recruitment interview. It is an initial way to make contact for about ten minutes, which can then lead to a more official recruitment interview.
What Handicafé© is all about:
- High added value for candidates: they meet businesses that are open to all qualifications and are looking for potential staff in their field of competence
- High added value for businesses: they meet many preselected candidates who are relevant to the advertised jobs, talk with them and expand their CV library
Jobdating©, a professional face-to-face meeting session without false pretences, is a concept registered by LADAPT. A series of 12-minute interviews enables recruiters and candidates to meet up and get straight to the point. Inspired by speed dating, LADAPT has transposed this model to a professional context, to encourage recruiters to overcome their prejudices about disability.
The results are clear to see! 70% of meetings lead to a more in-depth interview within a fortnight. Six months later, around 65% of candidates are on the path of employment.
The Disability Employment Forums
The Disability Employment Forums enable businesses to meet candidates like at a traditional job fair.
The latter, CV in hand, can talk with recruiters and leave their contact details with them.
Point Com Entreprise (Business Comms Point)
The Point Com Entreprise is an information stand installed on the premises of LADAPT’s partner businesses. A speaker from LADAPT and a disability advisor, the company’s HR manager, visit it for a day.
Its role is to inform employees about the company’s disability policy, and to raise customers’ awareness of the company’s approach.
These discussion sessions with business representatives provide a concrete answer to their questions about their duties in the field of disabled people’s employment.
